Strategic Objective 1 – Sunday services to be the hub of Christian activity for the Waiuku Christian Fellowship

Our Fellowship will achieve this by:

  • Providing God inspired preaching on a regular basis
  • Providing opportunity for heart felt worship on a regular basis
  • Providing Bible based teaching in the elements of the faith
  • Being receptive to moves of the Holy Spirit.
  • Offering variety in format to maintain freshness and appeal
  • Providing regular non threatening encouragement to the fellowship members
  • Providing clear and timely communications to the fellowship members on activities
  • Providing opportunity for social interaction between the fellowship members and any visitors.
  • Providing regular evangelistic meetings
  • Holding a pre-service prayer meeting before the Sunday morning service

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Deliver a bible-based sermon either morning or night five out of six Sundays.
  • Encourage suitable well qualified visiting speakers to preach occasionally
  • Develop a broad-based music team and strategies for their deployment.
  • Review service format regularly and make small changes as appropriate to meet objectives.
  • Encourage the development of spiritual gifts in members by offering them opportunities and responsibilities appropriate to their Christian maturity.
  • Maintain a regular time slot for communications and regularly carry out effectiveness reviews.
  • Scheduled and hold three evangelism meeting each year
  • Maintain and encourage participation in the pre-service prayer meeting.

 

Strategic Objective 2 – To develop the fellowship members personally and move them into God’s perfect plan for their lives.

Our Fellowship will achieve this by:

  • Increasing members levels of knowledge of God and his perfect will
  • Preparing the members to allow God to impact on their lives.
  • Helping individuals to discover their spiritual gifts
  • Empowering individuals to move into their personal calling
  • Encouraging individuals to set goals and to actively move towards them
  • Prepare individuals to take on roles of responsibility

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Provide regular bible teaching through sermons and study opportunities
  • Deliver some sermons on God’s plan and our actions that lead to our lives being blessed and richly fulfilling.
  • Run a seminar or series on discovering personal spiritual gifts
  • Develop programmes to enable and encourage individuals to take up their calling.
  • Provide discipleship training opportunities
  • Challenge individuals to seek and set goals for their own development.

 

Strategic Objective 3 – To become the bearers of God’s message of hope, peace and a good outcome to the fellowship members and the local community

Our Fellowship will achieve this by:

  • Communicating God’s message to the unsaved
  • Providing help to those in need
  • Providing leadership in the community
  • Providing opportunity for non threatening interaction with Christians
  • Providing safe and supportive social opportunities for the fellowship and the wider community
  • Displaying unity of purpose with other churches in Waiuku and beyond

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Develop and approve a working brief for cell groups ministries
  • Develop and approve a working brief for young adult ministries
  • Develop and approve a working brief for children’s ministries
  • Develop and approve a working brief for youth ministries
  • Develop and approve a working brief for organised local outreach.
  • Develop and approve a working brief of initiatives involving other churches

 

Strategic Objective 4 – To develop church facilities and resources that support the activities of the fellowship

Our Fellowship will achieve this by:

  • Developing a or maintaining a dedicated church complex
  • Providing good musical instruments and equipment
  • Providing appropriate technological equipment and processes

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Develop and approve a working brief for the new building investigation team
  • Develop and approve a working brief for the music team resources development
  • Develop a technical support network

 

Strategic Objective 5 – To be a source of hope to overseas missions

Our Fellowship will achieve this by:

  • Communicating the vision of/for various missions to the fellowship and wider stakeholders.
  • Supplying financial resources to mission works.
  • Visiting overseas mission works to understand their needs.
  • Preparing and sending teams to overseas mission centres to give support.
  • Developing the missions support mentality in individual fellowship members

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Develop and approve a working brief for the missions coordination team
  • Develop and approve a strategy for the preparation of a short term missions team
  • Investigate overseas mission opportunities

 

Strategic Objective 6 – To develop the fellowship socially into an extended family

Our Fellowship will achieve this by:

  • Providing social opportunities for the membership and community
  • Encouraging social tolerance and compassion in the membership
  • Appreciating and acknowledging diversity in individuals and culture
  • Encouraging social responsibility in membership

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Preparing an agenda based on one or a number of objectives for each organised activity.
  • Develop Fellowship calendar identifying planned activities.
  • Develop a plan to run a number of social activities for members and as an outreach to the community.
  • Develop strategies for celebration diversity and culture.

 

Strategic Objective 7 – To be good stewards, managing God’s blessings well.

Our Fellowship will achieve this through the Pastor, leaders, and management team:

  • Providing positive leadership to the fellowship
  • Maintaining a spiritual oversight for the Pastor from inside and outside the Fellowship
  • Maintain sound governance documentation
  • Maintaining fiscal accountability
  • Efficiently using the blessing of people’s time
  • Giving ample opportunity for members to contribute their time and resources to church activities

Short term goals to move the Fellowship further towards achieving this objective

  • Review current communications methods
  • Develop procedures for the oversight and identify a suitable mentoring structure.
  • Improve management meeting processes
  • Establish a management documentation manual
  • Develop and approve procedures for appointment of leadership.
